Earth Day at Forest Park: 2008
On Sunday, April 20, Earth Day was celebrated extensively at Forest Park. While volunteering there, I visited many booths all advocating the idea of a greener earth. Some notable associations that were present include: The St. Louis Zoo, the Botanical Garden, the Sierra Club, and even the Obama Campaign. From 11:00 to 2:30, I also viewed many individuals trying to convince others to lead a greener life. These include the satyr, Congressman Carnahan, and Mayor Slay. This earth day was truly, as the Post Dispatch stated on Monday morning, was not “just for hippies anymore…environmental activists and science geeks mixed with suburbanites and soccer moms interested in learning more about greener living, and the energy efficiency some larger corporations are pushing”. Below are only a few of the many photos I took while at Earth Day. Please do not use any images or videos without the direct permission of Jason.

I’m trying to watch your movie, but I couldn’t open it. Sounds like you had an interesting time at the Earth Day celebration. I was sad that I couldn’t go. I hope I’ll be able to view them when I get to school.

On your storyboard you have divided your topic into sub-topics. Do you think that the interviews (street and expert) will fit in with what you have? What kinds of images (still and moving) could you have to help create the whole idea of the film? What camera angles might you use and why?

Great images, Jason–You’ll be able to use some of those for our static background in our documentary.
